Funds available for companies impacted by COVID-19

The Michigan Department of Treasury announced the Afflicted Relief Grant Program to provide $409 million of federal funds to eligible businesses negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent health emergencies. The funding for the grant program comes after the Michigan Chamber of Commerce continuously urged for the passage of Senate Bill 85, which included the necessary funds for the program and was ultimately signed into law at the end of 2021.

The grant program creates a process for businesses to receive a percentage of financial losses incurred calculated based upon the entity’s timeline of operation.
