Tax Information

Residents are taxed by two entities:

The Village of Bingham Farms and Southfield Township.

The Village of Bingham Farms collects taxes once per year - these taxes cover operational expenses of the Village including: rubbish collection, snow plowing of public roads, police and fire protection, library services.

Taxes due July 1st- after August 31st, penalty assessed at a rate of 1% per month each month overdue. After March 1, taxes turned over to County where additional penalties are assessed.

2007 Village Tax Rate: 6.8 mills

Southfield Township - collects taxes twice per year. The Township collects a township tax, school taxes, and county taxes.
